The 12 Easy Steps to Owning a The Coffee Club Franchise

Applying for a new franchise may seem daunting, but we’re here to support you through every step of the application process.

Our franchisee recruitment process is comprehensive to ensure that The Coffee Club is the best fit for you. This is why it is important that you thoroughly read and understand your obligations before making your decision.

The application process involves successfully completing the following 12 steps:

Complete the Expression of Interest Form here by telling us about you and your passion for TCC.

After submitting your Expression of Interest you’ll receive a confirmation email with more information on Franchising at TCC and about the Minor DKL group. You will also receive a Confidentiality Agreement to read, sign and return.

We’ll give you a call for an initial discussion on the opportunity and your suitability.

If we proceed, you’ll complete a more detailed application form online. We will also request Proof of Funds and Proof of ID at this stage.

If your application is specific to a site, we’ll send you a Site Pack with all the relevant details for the store you’re interested in.

At this point we require payment of a refundable deposit — $22,000 for a specific site.

Next, we complete the credit and police checks.

We then meet face-to-face for an interview.

Next, you’ll receive a Franchise Recruitment Kit, with a Business Plan and guide to complete. We also have an informative Online Training Program to help you understand the role of a TCC franchisee and for you to complete your due diligence. Successfully finishing this training is for an interview.

You have made it to the final interview! If successful, we contact your referees.

Congratulations! When you are officially approved, we issue you with our Welcome Pack to help you set up your business and prepare for your six-week competency based training.

Finally, our Training Team joins you to guide you through your induction to store opening.


During a meeting with our Training and Operations Manager, you will be introduced to our comprehensive training program which incorporates a dynamic mix of theory and hands-on learning. All franchisees are required to complete The Coffee Club’s Corporate Education Induction and In-store Training, both explained in further detail below. You’ll learn basic operations, selling techniques, marketing strategies and gain an overall sense of what the day-to-day operations involve.

In-store Training

Your training program consists of six weeks of comprehensive training in one of our Training Stores joined by our experienced Training Team. You’ll work across all areas of the business. It’s about assessing your skills, knowledge and behaviours to ensure that as Franchisee and Franchisor we are a great fit. Therefore, it’s necessary for you to complete the training to our satisfaction and standards. We believe this is the best way to ensure you are the best fit for The Coffee Club family and we’re the best fit for you.

Corporate Education

During our Corporate Education program we share our compliance requirements and showcase the support systems that are available to you every step of the way.


As a franchisee with The Coffee Club, one of the greatest benefits is the high level of support provided from the very beginning of your franchise journey.

Even after your store has opened and the Training Team leaves, you are not alone. You will have access to a dedicated Franchise Business Coach (FBC) who is your main point of contact. Our FBCs have assisted many franchisees throughout the start-up phase and will continue working with you on all aspects of the business. As both mentor and coach, your FBC will work with you to develop your business plan, which will help you achieve growth and success.
